Department Overview

 

The Reading/Language Arts curriculum is an integrated, standards-based program, which emphasizes the development of reading, writing, speaking, listening, and critical thinking skills.  Every junior high school student is enrolled in a comprehensive Reading/Language Arts program.  English Language Development courses are provided as an alternative for those students who qualify.  Mainstreamed English Learner students will receive continued English language support in the comprehensive program.
